Pre-Professional Program

Redding Ballet pre-professional program is for students who are dedicated to the art form of classical dance. Students will be observed during regular classes throughout the year. Participation in the program is by invitation. Students are evaluated every six months regarding their progress and desire to continue in the program.
To participate in the program, students must be able to attend the pre-professional classes on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (see schedule). Students asked to participate in the program are expected to be regular in their attendance and to make up all missed classes. Make-ups for the Monday/Wednesday technique class will be done in the Grade IV and advanced open class.
Students in the program are invited to audition for parts in Redding City Ballet’s Nutcracker. It cannot be used as a make-up class.
Students participating in the pre-professional program will be eligible to perform in RCB’s additional concerts only if appropriate parts are available. Possible concert times in 2009/2010 are Shasta College Fall (Nov) and Spring (Apr), Shasta College (June/July).

Redding Ballet and Redding School of Ballet are separate entities from Redding City Ballet. Redding City is a non-profit public benefit corporation and has its own board of directors, volunteers and committees that organize and keep it functioning.
Redding Ballet and its teachers will keep the pre-professionals fully apprised as best we can of summer programs, workshops, auditions and performances with respect to classical and modern dance that it feels are stepping stones to a fuller knowledge and appreciation of this art.
