Rosannah Riess began training in Classical Ballet with the Sebastopol-Santa Rosa Ballet. Within three years, she was promoted to the role of principle dancer. While studying at the University of California at Berkeley, she expanded her studies to include Modern Dance, Jazz, Folk Dance, Fencing, Martial Arts and Aerial Dance.  In 2003, she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics. Working as a mathematician and programmer, Miss Riess continued her dance performance and movement studies at Professional Ballet School in Belmont, ODC Studios in San Francisco, The Circus Center and San Francisco State University. She is co-founder of the LionHorse, a Modern and Aerial Dance Theater Company. While at San Francisco State, Miss Riess was invited to the Palucca Schule University in Leipzig, Germany where she studied privately with Dresden Semperoper Ballet dancer, Raymond Hilbert.  Upon returning from Germany, Miss Riess performed with Trapeze World as an aerialist. After a brief sabbatical from the arts in 2006, Miss Riess relocated to Redding to turn her full attention dance and aerial performance. In addition to her work for Redding City Ballet, she has instructed classes at Redding Ballet Academie and trained for aerial performances at G-Force Gymnastics.
